FAQ's

What is Art Licensing?
Art licensing is a business agreement in which a company obtains the right to use an artist’s work on specific products for a defined period of time.
In this arrangement, the artist (the licensor) retains ownership of the artwork while granting a company (the licensee) permission to use the design under agreed terms. These terms may include product category, territory, duration, and whether the license is exclusive or non-exclusive.
In my case, my designs can be licensed either non-exclusively or exclusively, depending on the needs of the project.
Where Can I Find Your Portfolio?
You can view my PDF portfolio here, which includes a curated selection of my designs.
You can also browse my website portfolio, where most of my newest collections and patterns are displayed.
If you are looking for something specific, feel free to contact me — I’m happy to suggest designs that may suit your product category.
What is a Non-Exclusive License?
A non-exclusive license allows a company to use one of my existing designs within a specific product category while I retain the ability to license the same design to other companies as well.
For example, a brand may license a design for use on stationery products, while another company may license the same design for a different category.
Designs licensed non-exclusively may also remain available on print-on-demand platforms such as Spoonflower, where they can be purchased as fabric, wallpaper, or other home products.
What is an Exclusive License?
An exclusive license gives the licensee exclusive rights to use a design within a specific product category, territory, and time period.
The exact terms are defined and agreed upon before the licensing agreement is finalized.
For example, if a company licenses a design exclusively for baby bedding, that company will be the only brand allowed to use the design for that specific category during the licensing period.
However, I may still license the design for other product categories, such as wallpaper, stationery, or apparel, if those categories are not included in the exclusive agreement.
At the end of the licensing term, the licensee typically has the first option to renew the license. If the license is not renewed, the rights revert back to me.
Who Owns the Copyright to the Designs?
I retain full copyright and ownership of all artwork and designs at all times.
Licensing grants permission to use the artwork under specific conditions, but it does not transfer ownership of the design.
In certain cases, a full buyout of the design rights may be negotiated for a higher fee.
How Much Does a License Cost?
Licensing fees vary depending on the scope of the project.
Pricing is determined based on several factors, including:
product category
license duration
territory or distribution region
exclusivity
production volume
royalty structure (if applicable)
Because every project is different, all licensing quotes are tailored individually to meet the needs of the brand.
Are Your Designs Seamless Repeats?
Yes. All of my pattern designs are created as seamless repeats, meaning they connect perfectly on all four sides and can be printed continuously on fabric, wallpaper, or other surfaces without visible breaks in the pattern.
Can You Provide Layered Artwork?
Yes. If your printer or manufacturer requires layered artwork, please let me know in advance. I can prepare files in layered formats when needed, depending on the design and production requirements.
What File Format Do You Provide?
Pattern designs are typically delivered as high-resolution repeating tiles in JPG format.
Standard specifications are:
3600 × 3600 pixels
300 DPI resolution
However, file size and specifications can be adjusted to meet your production requirements.
Files can be prepared in RGB or CMYK, depending on your printer’s preference.
